Allergy Myths & Truths: Should I move to help my allergies?

One common question we hear, whether serious or jokingly, is whether moving somewhere else, whether the desert or mountains, will help with allergies.

Truth: In the U.S., there is no allergy-free zone. Many types of desert plants produce pollen, and when pollen counts are high, you can have allergy symptoms.

Furthermore, triggers such as dust mites, pet dander, cockroach, and molds can occur anywhere in the country, indoors and out. So there is no guarantee that moving will eliminate all of your symptoms.

At East Texas Allergy & Asthma, we believe that it is easier to fix yourself than the world around you. We invite anyone suffering from allergies and asthma to consult with our experts and find the solution tailored to your needs!
